Volunteers Needed for the 2010 Accenture Golf Tournament!

The tournament is right around the corner, Monday, February15th through Sunday, February 21st.  This event provides a fun way to volunteer and earn funds for the Thornydale Little League without having to sell candybars!

We are getting a late start this year and need to fill 148 spots over the 7 day tournament.  If you are able to help out and/or enjoy getting out on the golf course to watch the pro’s play, please come by Arthur Pack Park on Saturday, February 6th to sign up or contact Reina Schmid at President@thornydalell.org.  There are many benefits to volunteering for this event including free parking and good food. Thank you in advance for your support!

Shifts that need to be filled:

Monday, February15th           8AM -2PM,  9AM - 3PM or 11AM to close
Tuesday, February16th           8AM - 2PM,  9AM- 3PM or 11AM to close

Little League Pledge

I Trust in God. I love my country and will respect it's laws.  I will play fair and strive to win. But win or lose, I will always do my best.

Message to Parents

The parents of millions of Little Leaguers combined with their children, league officials, umpires, managers, coaches, and countless volunteer agencies including sponsors, represent an imposing cross section of our world. Parents must take the initiative to make the local program successful. Little League is not a club in which membership implies babysitting benefits and entertainment privileges.

Practically speaking, Little League is an adult volunteer work project constructed, supervised, and assisted by parents who want to extend this benefit to their children.  The parent who shirks this responsibility cannot, in turn, expect others to assume the burden. ~From the Little League Rule Book

If you are willing to volunteer your time, we will show you how to contribute. Don't know how or what to do?  Email any one of the TLL board members and we will be happy to meet with you and show you how to set up and run a scoreboard, how to keep score or how to prepare a field for play. Volunteering is rewarding and also a lot of fun!
