A Letter From The President,
January, 2005
Dear Parents and Players,
Let me be the first to
welcome you back to another year of baseball and softball at Thornydale
Little League. There have been several changes to the board of directors,
starting with myself. I have been associated with Thornydale Little League
since 1997. I have coached Mini-minors, Minors, Majors and Juniors. I have
also umpired at Thornydale for several years. I have 2 sons in the league;
one Junior and the other starting Minors.
This is the first board
position that I have had the pleasure to hold and am looking forward to a
fun and productive year. As you read through the newsletter, you will notice
several changes in the structure of the league.
We have set up several
different divisions so that players can be developed at a steady pace. As
you will see inside, the key is to teach the basics and then progress from
there. It is the board's goal to see that every player is taught to a level
that will make the game fun, but yet challenging.
We have had a great turnout
for the Manger's interviews and I can assure you that these will be great
coaches. For those of you that are interested, there will be coaches sign
ups during the players registration days.
We have several projects in the works.
These include, but are not limited to, replacing the overhead netting,
re-surfacing the batting cages and upgrades to the snack bar.
We hope to make the 2005 season a great experience for all the players and
the parents as well.
