THORNYDALE TO ESTABLISH FOUNDATION PROGRAM
Beginning in 2007, the Thornydale Little League will begin the process of raising revenue towards the establishment of a foundation that will provide funds that can be earmarked for a scholarship program to a graduating male and female student at Mountain View High School that participated and graduated from the Thornydale Little League. Other such uses of monies raised to go towards the partnership with Pima County Parks and Recreation for future field and park improvements. It is the goal to begin these programs in 2008.
In 2007 it is planned to raise funds through the participation in the PGA Accenture Match Play tournament in February. It is also in the discussion stages to have an annual day of golf outing. Such fund raising activities will go towards this foundation.
It is the goal and mission of this foundation to be able to develop annual revenue streams that can be earmarked for capital improvements to the facilities and have the capability to provide support back to the community.
